aenee/Lily over from Kim’s
A sigh for a rosebud in January. Lovely image.
Awww… It seems a sad thing really. But what a soft, sweet image you’ve captured despite the fact. Really beautiful, Pat.
Nice framing and delicious, I love this rose, great texture. Greetings.
Nice texture! I wish this bud would open someday. Do you notice there are two kind of calyxes in this rose bud. One type of calyx has sharp pointed ends to protect rose against inseccts, another type is round and no ponted ends to protect rose’s petals. The pointed calyxes would open first then round calyxes would open.
Very pretty, even tho it is doomed by nature to never develop you have given it life.
Very neat idea for this week’s prompt, and a beautiful photo!
gorgeous photo! the editing is perfect.
Love the composition, beautiful!
it is so sad to see a rosebud like that, but you added to it’s beauty and gave it new life with your photo : )
Even in it’s “arrested” state, this rosebud is extremely beautiful. This time of year, most everything outdoors appears dead or dormant — but if we look closely with our camera, we find all sorts of lovely images in the winter landscape. There’s little color to attract attention, but there are many interesting shapes and textures.
Your photo also emphasizes that there is beauty in every stage of life! =)
I wish I were as well preserved as that rose.
Seriously though, Pat, I love the picture and the comment. It captures the way things are.
Thanks Jane!
Perfect in its imperfection! Lovely edit!
Beautiful interpretation!
Your shot is so poignant. And I love the way you’ve used texture. Beautiful!
Actually, with some TLC, it just might:
place in a warm room, prise open or take off outer petals and ‘stir’ in the center and you may be pleasantly surprised.
I had one respond just like that last week.
It makes me so sad to see a rose bud on my that I know will never bloom. Beautiful, haunting photo.
oh yes, sad… but oh so beautiful!
Beautiful warm colors and edit. Great idea for “open”
Life is hard sometimes.
An old bud then . . . Beautiful:)
Beautiful image complimented by both words and texture. Nice job!
What a beautiful interprtation on this weeks theme! I love the quote too!
Absolutely beautiful!
