The Barn

I couldn’t decide which version I liked better, so I used both.
I did this one first.

Then I decided to add another texture which warmed it up a little.

  1. Wow, Pat! Both are terrific! It’s such a great barn image to begin with.

This was interesting Pat. Such different feelings from each photo. I like both for different reasons.

Hmmmmm, I can’t decide either, Pat but maybe the second one has a slight edge for me.

It’s amazing what different moods the different tints create! Normally I would prefer an old barn in sepia, but the first image grabs me more this time. Great work Pat. Thank you for sharing it with Photo Art Friday.

I loved the b&w, but then I got to the sepia version and loved it, too! If I had to choose, I’d probably pick the second one as my favourite.

Both are beautiful, but my favourite is the second one.

  11. Fergiemoto says:

I like the warmth of the second one. Was there also an effect to make the boards on the barn look wavy? I like how you worked the photos!

In Photoshop I used the Distort filter – Glass – Blocks. I just kept playing around with the parameters until I got something I liked..

  12. Deborah says:

they are both great, but personally,; as a personal choice I lean towards the sepia toned . . .

I am a sucker for black and white; however, I think the sepia toned image grabbed me, too, this time. They are both lovely. The texture of the barn may show through a bit more with the sepia on this one; but, sometimes that is deceiving when viewing on a monitor. Wonderful processing and great image. Thanks for sharing. Awesome work. Both are really great. The B/W has a very stark look that I find appealing.
However I also like the warm, vintage feel the Sepia adds to the 2nd. Toss up for me.
