Even though its wings are worn at the edges, the butterfly can still easily fly from flower to flower.
I just enjoy looking at your site; the pictures you have put up are quite impressive and I just love the detail you have put in. I have to say that your pictures are simply breathe taking. Maybe you can look at my website: http://www.dazzamblog.com to see more information about UK wildlife and other science topics.
I love the message, the color, and the joy of life your photo exudes…
if we were so lucky as we age and get ‘tattered’.
I love this composition, Pat.
Beautiful capture, Pat!
Wonderful but it makes me sad to see those tattered wings. Thanks for the visit.
What a gorgeous shot!
HI Pat This is a stunning shot. The light hitting the organe flower is great and it is wonderful tht even the butterflly is tattered, it cacn still go about its business.
Amazing macro shot ~ beautiful butterfly ~ thanks, carol, xo
Accommodating as it goes along. Love this shot Pat!
What a lovely photo — and message! Some of the most beautiful people I know are the ones who just keep on keepin’ on, even in their “tatteredness.”
I am amazed at how some of those tattered butterflies manage to get around.

Beautiful shot! Rugged beauty…
I love the tattered ones. Mourning cloaks do this, too. Live so long they fray!
Still so beautiful!
Also with tattered wings a beauty! Love the soft texture of your shot!
It a pleasure to walk on your wonderfull blog; best regard from Belgium
A little tattered but still a beauty. Lovely photo.
Pat, a very pretty shot!
The little white butterflies are pretty much all we’re seeing this summer, rarely a monarch. Looks like a bird tried to catch this one but it managed to get away, minus some wings.
Beautiful, even tattered. Love catching up on your blog. You’re nature photos are always spectacular.
Amazing! Great click!
It must possess an auto-balancing system.
Even with tattered wings they are still magical!
I does make me wonder how some of the battered butterflies we see manage to make it into the air.

Marigold and butterfly are both beautifully captured!
