This juvenile seems to be practicing the sinister glare for which Grackles are known. The adults have yellow eyes. which make them appear even more threatening.
The BIRD D’pot
good pick up. I’m getting the opinion that the Grackles might be a little intimidating to other birds, are they?
Part of that glare is definitely the tilt of the head…but the yellow eyes are much fiercer-looking. 🙂
So it seems to be a “villain”.
Let the vines lock it tight to the tree.
He’s a handsome fellow though. Lovely shot.
You’ve captured another Angry Bird.
He does appear to be practicing!! Boom, Bobbi and Gary.
Glare they do…with style!! I like ’em even tho some people don’t.
Thanks for linking up this weekend. It’s always appreciated.
I am not sure why, but these birds always look like they are mad.
Great shot, Pat, and a wonderful expression on this one.
He/she means business alright!
“By George, I think he’s got it!” – Certainly looks menacing enough to me. Great shot.
Ooohhh…that’s quite the stare-down!
Definitely think he’s got it figured out!
